We will not store your data, because we are not yet allowed to.
Your money. Your tax. Your working.
Is your employer deducting the right PAYE? URA's own website still publishes the old bands, so a payroll team doing the responsible thing is over-deducting. Is URA holding money that belongs to you? Most Ugandan consultants never collect their withholding tax certificates, and pay tax twice on the same income.
At least 10 characters. No capitals-and-a-symbol rules — those produce Passw0rd! and nothing else. Length is what protects you.
What we do with your email. We encrypt it, and we index it with a one-way hash — so we can tell whether an address is already registered without ever holding a readable list of our own users. Your password is hashed with scrypt and is not readable by us either. You can see who has read your data, take it with you, or delete it entirely — and delete means delete, not archive.

Is your employer deducting the right PAYE?
Add your payslips. We recompute the tax from the gazetted Act and show you the difference.
Add a payslip
Take it straight off the payslip. Do not round.
What URA is holding that belongs to you
Withholding tax is not a cost. It is prepaid tax — a credit against your income tax. But only if you hold the certificate. A credit you cannot evidence is a credit you do not have.

My money
Use your take-home pay, not your gross. PAYE and NSSF have already gone — budgeting from gross is the most common way to be wrong by 30%.

My tax calendar
Every date below is computed from the Act — not typed into a spreadsheet once and forgotten. When the law changes, these change.
We have not asked you these yet
An unanswered question is not a clean bill of health. Until you answer, we will not put a deadline on your screen — and we will not pretend there isn't one.

My Books
A Book is where your income and expenses live. Most people keep one called Home — add others for a shop, rentals, or a build.

Default values
Your regular income and expenses, each with a unit and a price. Change a price and Selah records the change. These also fill in the totals when you record an entry by quantity.
| Item | In / out | Unit | Price | Updated |
|---|
A value with no price yet can be added — leave it blank and it fills in the first time you record an entry for it.
Shopping lists
Plan what to buy. Selah estimates from prices it already knows — and when you mark something bought, it becomes a real expense, linked to this item.
Budget
Savings
How long your money would last, and where you stand on the climb to a comfortable cushion. Built from what you already record — saving is money sitting in an account you have not spent.
My accounts
Where your money actually sits. We cannot see your balances — there is no Open Banking in Uganda and we will not screen-scrape. So we compute them from what you record, and then you check us against reality.

Cash, MTN MoMo, the bank, a SACCO, a loan, land. Everything else in Selah is built on these.
Your data
Everything we hold, who has read it, and how to take it away. Most platforms bury this in a support ticket.
